Cybershaft 50Ohm BNC SEMI RIGID cable 1.5m
Cybershaft 50Ohm BNC SEMI RIGID cable 1.5m
The Cybershaft 50Ω BNC Semi-Rigid 1.5m cable is a high-reliability connection for reference 10 MHz master clocks, word-clock distribution and RF measurements. It is designed to provide a stable impedance character and extremely low losses, crucial for precise synchronization and low jitter performance.
Technical characteristics
- Impedance: 50 Ω (nominal, controlled line)
- Type: Semi-rigid coaxial (equivalent to RG-402/0.141"), formable copper tube as armor
- Length: 1.5 m
- Connections: precision BNC 50 Ω, male-male
- Dielectric: PTFE (low loss); speed factor ~0.69
- Frequency range: DC to typically 4 GHz (limited by BNC interface)
- VSWR: ≤1.2:1 @10 MHz (typical), ≤1.35:1 up to 1 GHz
- Attenuation (typ.): ~0.03 dB/m @10 MHz; ~0.10 dB/m @100 MHz; ~0.32 dB/m @1 GHz
- Shield efficiency: >90 dB (semi-rigid monolithic shield, high immunity to EMI/RFI)
- Application: 10 MHz reference, word clock, RF/lab instrumentation
Sound characteristics - As a transmission line for the reference signal, the cable has no "sound signature" in the traditional sense; the goal is neutrality. Properly terminated at 50 Ω ensures stable phase and minimal reflected signal, which in practice contributes to lower jitter and cleaner, more stable sound of systems using an external clock.
Compatibility and Application - Ideal for Cybershaft master clocks and devices with 50 Ω BNC 10 MHz input/output (eg certain DAC/streamer/DDC models, RF reference sources, GPSDO/OCXO/Rb standards). Not intended for 75 Ω SPDIF or 75 Ω word clock ports; always pair with 50 Ω interfaces and termination for optimal results.
Condition and maintenance - Used, excellent. Semi-rigid construction lasts a long time with proper use; it is advised to avoid repeated bending and respect the minimum bending radius (~12–15 mm for one-time shaping). Keep connectors clean and dry; service history is not required (passive component).
